Without her memories though.
 
Fire Emblem Awakening time.

Starlight and Sunburst make Sunset.
 
Sunset grows up a bit.
 
She gets into the time travel spells that her mother specifically told her not to get into.
 
She transports herself about 25 years back in time.
 
She has to grow from adolescence to adulthood by herself.
 
She’s devastated from her time displacement, but eventually accepts it and moves on.
 
……..
 
One day, her friend Twilight introduces her to Starlight Glimmer.
 
Sunset freezes. She takes Twilight aside and harshly whispers, “Twilight, what’s my mom doing here!?”
 
Twilight is baffled.
 
Sunset realizes that she has the ability to fix things before they even happen.
 
She explains herself to Starlight, explaining that she is her and Sunburst’s future daughter. She begs Starlight to never, ever let her get into time travel spells, once she and Sunburst make her.
 
Later on, Starlight and Sunburst make Sunset. Starlight is extra-sure to make her understand that the time-travel spells are forbidden under any circumstances.
 
Sunset ignores her mother and casts the spell, transporting herself about 25 years back in time…

Starligh is the daughter of Twilight Sparkle.

This is mindscrewy enough that I’m willing to headcanon this. Would certainly explain where Sunset gets it all from, even though there’s still the mater of where (mainly) Starlight gets it to begin with.

I can just Imagination Twilight’s reaction.  
“Hey starlight, how you- Holy funk!”
