Description
But yeah, Asteroid 2016 HO3 is a tiny caught asteroid in a rather irregular orbit around the earth, unlike the large, spherical moon the we can all see with the unaided eye.
Depends on where the debris field is located. If it’s further out (about the orbit of the Moon), it shouldn’t be a problem except rarely to extra-terrestrial flights (that is, missions outside of the Earth’s sphere of influence, not aliens). Remember, space is mostly empty, even in ‘crowded’ areas like the asteroid belt. If it does impact the Moon, most of the debris will either fall back to the moon, end up burning up in entry of the Earth’s atmosphere, or (possibly) escape the Earth’s gravity well and end up in solar orbit elsewhere. If it just breaks up on it’s own, a less likely (but far more cool) scenario would end up with the Earth temporarily having a small ring system for a while.
We just make bigger debris, problem solved.
Perhaps if she were more than pony. More than life. Perhaps if she were a god, she could command it…
TO KNEEEEEEEL!
The fun being the amount of additional debris being ejected posing a potential danger to us.
