It definitely was different. Other oddities to the race: To get pregnant the females needed to have sex with two different men (the genetic material from one male was not enough) and salt water was like acid to them. A dip in the ocean would be lethal to them in seconds.
That’s pretty funny
There was a movie called Alien Nation which later had a spin-off TV series. In it, alien refuges come to Earth, and they assimilate into our culture. They get jobs, they live alongside us, and so on.
They weren’t affected by alcohol. They didn’t like the taste of it, and it didn’t get them drunk. However sour milk did. That was what their version of alcohol was. So they’d buy a carton of milk, and stick it in the cabinet to let it sour. And they’d go for it when they wanted a drink.
