I like how creative they were with some of the island designs. The Great Sea actually made the game's world feel much bigger then previous Zeldas. Felt a bit more open-world too, in some ways.

At times, admittedly it got tedious, but the same could be said for wandering around land, or Hyrule field in other games. (Plus, like those games there's warps.)

I had a trick to get around that at times by opening and closing the sails when close to land, or sailing sideways with the wind, going back and fourth.
