I’ve never seen this comic before, probably because by the time this came out, I was getting more and more disconnected from the fandom.
But yeah, time travel stories don’t make much sense to me, especially if you want the audience to be engaged with your characters. With that said, the original ending of Cutie Remark is still one of, if not the most baffling creative decision I’ve ever seen in this franchise.
While I’m aware that most people didn’t like that ending, I’ve seen people changing their minds about this ending two episodes later, and over the years I’ve seen more people trying to normalize that this was a good decision by twilight, which is kinda creepy. It doesn’t help that many of the later seasons focused on giving too many second chances to someone who’s abusive to other ponies and continued to be allowed in Twilight’s group anyway.
When I see things like this, not only I appreciate more comics like this one, but I also appreciate what they’ve done to Misty in Make your Mark, Tempest in the MLP movie and the ending of The Owl House.
