It’s the Sparlight thing more than anything, but I get it now. :)
You haven’t witnessed Sparlight have you? It’s a shipping that was a possibility by someone. So after seeing Angel’s scene in this episose being in love with Starlight, they had Spike have a jealousy scene. Or could it be that you don’t get the reference? Rabbit Season is a reference to the most well known Bugs Bunny Cartoon where Bugs and Daffy Duck fight over if it’s Rabbit Season or Duck Season so they don’t get shot by the hunter Elmer Fudd.
