[@Background Pony #70AC](/1139451#comment_4962478) made a good point, but I'd just add; it's a bit like sticking around after a war to rebuild a country you won against. After all, she kind of destroyed their lives by destroying the one way they had to take care of themselves.
One part I really like about it, though, is the chance it gives them at redemption.
Maybe over done in fiction, maybe not, but overall there's no shortage of it IRL, so I like the concept on that ground. Plus, it'd be interesting to see how they take a situation where they're forced to be humbler.
