When I was very little my mom had a brain tumor. she didnt know if she was going to live or not. She wrote my sister a letter, my dad a letter and me a letter. I have not been able to read mine. she survived and even makes light of it and lives life to the fullest each day.
so yes. a kid not might be able to compleatly understand this. but one day when they look back at it. they will.
You’ll get to it when you get to it, yo =) . Keep in mind, the fact that this makes me sad goes hand-in-hand with the fact that I think it’s great art too.
I just hope you’re kind to her when it happens. Dinky may only be a character, but she’s still a child.
Kids just hit me straight in the feels, you know? They’re young. Someone that young, no matter what color they are or where they’re from… I get really uncomfortable imagining them in pain.
Well I keep bouncing back and forth in this. Not sure whether to call it a “universe” or a “story” in the lose sense. But I feel that at the rate I keep revisiting it I’ll have plenty of time to have the big stuff thought through by the time I get to it.
It’s alright, yo =) .
I just can’t help but to think about it in a real world context. How painful it’d be for an actual kid to find this kind of letter.
I don’t know how strong a child would have to be just to manage through something like this. Way stronger than a child should ever have to be, at the very least.
In the defense of this letter I sort of did as a scenario where she would have told Dinky then, but didn’t think she’d understand or remember it as well as if it were written for it to come up later in life when it’d be relevant.
You’re welcome.
Fuck.
