I remember going to the FAO Scharz store in Manhattan in 2012! (Sadly, the toy store where the giant floor piano is located closed in 2015…)

to be fair, analog synthesizers have existed in various forms since the forties, although the giant floor piano like the kind at f.a.o. schwartz was created in 1988 specifically for the movie “big”. it seems to me that, with the major exception of telephones and the internal combustion engine, equestrian technology seems to be mostly stuck in the 1970s, as evidenced by the presence of analog cameras, carousel slide projectors, analog film projectors, phonographic record players, and airport-style metal detectors (albeit in a fantasy sequence.)

It was really nice to hear the first part of the “My Little Pony” theme song.

I see they still can’t decide on a tech level for Equestria.

You know what the funny thing is? Yesterday I was thinking about how we’ve hardly heard the classic MLP theme within the show outside of the opening since Season 1, and now here it is again.

It’s the little things in these episodes that really get to me. This and Spike’s differing Hearths Warming tradition are so precious
