I love that song that I only learned about a few days ago.
off the main deflector dish!
That’s the way we do things, lad!
We’re making sht up as we wish.
The Klingons and the Romulans
pose no threat to us.
‘Cause if we find we’re in a bind,
we just make some sht up.

Ahh gotcha. I wasn’t ready for the jump. ;)
So what your saying is, being bipolar can save science fiction?
Quick! Get J.J. Abrams on the phone!
You’re right…but “reverse the polarity” is actually from Doctor Who originally, hence my (in jest, mind you) comment.
Nope. After almost every Voyager episode, everything goes back to the way it was, just like The Simpsons. Sure, there are exceptions, e.g. Scorpion, but generally, nothing is learned or remembered by the next episode. The ship gets torn up or half-destroyed? All fixed by next week! lol
Wrong franchise
It’s essential Wax On, Wax Off. The single most powerful move in karate and the same principle applies to extremely complex space battleships.
I kid you not, turning it off and back on again has even worked for the space program a number of times…
How could’ve I been so foolish? I should use a hypermetabolic cranial accelerator to hopefully reinvigorate my lackluster brainwave activity and use the Gershwin effect to convert into a better model.
“Invest”? Don’t be dropping nonsensical words on us!
Just channel the tachyon energy output through the main deflector dish.
Everything always goes through the main deflector dish in TNG.
I don’t recall that much in TNG. I think that’s mostly something from the original series, or maybe I just don’t remember? :q
Sorry, my specialty is on the opposite end of the spectrum. I’ll just continue to pretend I know GR a lot better than I really do :P
But what little I do know is that it involves probability functions, the discretization of energy, and has an uncertainty principle of like, pv > hbar or something?
Ah, drat, checked myself, I really felt like adding a hbar/2 on the RHS but I didn’t for fear of being wrong, and sure enough that would’ve been closer to right Xp
It’s o x o p >= hbar/2, where o x is the standard deviation for position and o p is the same for momentum.
Mmmmmm, okay, wait, I’m not cheating here, the particles are…
Hadrons are composite particles made of smaller parts, such as quarks and neutrons being made of three quarks. One of them is up-up-down, the other is down-down-up, but can’t remember which is which… Quarks have “color” and that is conserved and there are three possible values and all of them are always different in a hadron, so that they all make “white”… Fermions are particles that are subject to the pauli exclusion principle and Bosons (the “force-carrying” particles) are not, and everything can be discretized as particles or described as a field.
Mmmmmm is that enough? Did I pass? Do I get a gold sticker?! :3
