Yes, but all those timelines did exist. All those ponies did suffer because of Starlight. The fact that they might have been wiped out of existence afterwards changes nothing to the fact that they existed. And we are not sure those timelines really did disappear, not that it makes it any better.
 
I don’t understand the attitude of “Hey, those ponies don’t exist anymore, so their years of suffering don’t matter!”

They weren’t alternate realities, you dumbo.  
They were just different timelines due to fuck-ups along the way at different points.
 
There is only one timeline, but it kept being altered in different ways, thus resulting in different outcomes.

Those futures didn’t happen to Twilight’s Equestria. But there’s a good case to be made that they did still happen to some Equestria. (Otherwise, Twilight wouldn’t have been able to experience them at all.) And in any case, merely attempting to ruin spacetime seems worthy enough of punishment, to deter other jokers from following in her hoofsteps.

Thing is, no one in Equestria outside of Twilight Sparkle and Spike even realized Starlight Glimmer was tampering with time. At the end of it all, none of the alternate futures came to pass. So in a way, there was nothing to punish her for.

Blame Twilight. Equestria shouldn’t have left its justice system to that bleeding heart book nerd. Bring back the exile, the stone-curse and the imprisonment!  
Why, I reckon if Starlight (Harmony be upon her) ruled Equestria, she’d cut off hooves for stealing, hundred lashes for infidelity and death penalty for treason and apostasy! Nopony would dare display public indecency or gossip or preach falsehood.

I doubt that it would matter. Rorschach didn’t care that the Comedian was an attempted rapist in spite of his massive hangups about sex.
 
Though you’re making the Comedian a bit more evil than he actually was, too, like a lot of people seem to do. He’s an absolutely horrible person with a ton of crimes on his conscience, but he’s not completely remorseless; he was clearly affected by killing his ex-lover and her unborn child, which he technically did in self-defence, and he even seems ashamed for the whole “attempted rape”thing. I doubt that he even flirted with Silk Spectre, he was just trying to connect with her without giving away his parentage - he’s the kind of dick who’d think that he can play dad whenever he feels like it and forget the whole thing otherwise, but not really the kind who’d seduce his own daughter. And he barely seems proud of anything at all, he’s one big ball of self-loathing in the end, something which Rorschach completely failed to pick up in his idol-worship.

It kind of makes me wonder if the Comedian made a point about not mentioning his…activities in Vietnam in order to keep Rorschach off of him. || Remember, it was the death of a child that made Rorschach into what he is; the Comedian actively killed his own kid before he was even born, tried to flirt with his daughter, and was PROUD of both these accomplishments. I imagine that Rorschach was an enemy he was not interested in having. ||

But yeah, Starlight Glimmer is kiiiiiind of close to the point of no return as far as her villainy goes. I hope to God they take the Discord and Sunset route and make it a long process. That or make her a Zuko x Aizen-style villain and make her turn Heel again, only for Sunset to come in and fill her spot.

This reminds me of the first MLP fic I read, it featured Rorschach.
