Maybe they reserved a barrel or two of non-alcoholic cider for ponies/dragons below the drinking age.
Judging from the way the ponies were acting in that episode, the cider sure seemed to be alcoholic.

ikr. A large part of the reason i fell in love with this show was the eyes.
Either that, or the cider isn’t alcoholic.
… or alcohol, since there were kids in line for the cider, and because serving alcohol in a TVY rated program violates the rating.
