My favorite part of that video is watching it again after learning of and enjoying Some Jerk With a Camera and trying to spot his cameo. (He is, of course, one of the jerks with cameras)

& even Achy Breaky Song was more about how sick the POV character was of hearing Achy Breaky Heart all the time as opposed to the contents of the song itself.

I agree, the comic does kind of give the impression that it’s the artist who considers her a bland rip off who’s popularity is primarily due to the songs. After all, Weird Al’s Lady Gaga parody was more about poking fun at Lady Gaga herself (and her notorious over the top performance style), and was done that way specifically by Weird Al out of a desire not to tarnish a song essentially about human rights.
 
Which is not to say the argument can’t be made or anything. It just seems a little mean spirited to go that route by taking a heartfelt song about being yourself and turning it into a “this is why you suck as a character” piece.
