Stuff like “drawn to manehattan”, “taken advantage of by their managers”, and “have their creative signatures altered to fit the ‘popular’ trend”, and “have a way to present their flashiness to the audience”.
 
The first three are only established to be true in the present time (at least for Rarity on the first case), long after AJ was friends with Rara, and the fourth wasn’t true of Rara in the flashback we saw, only the present. In addition, Rarity wanting to go to Manehattan was never established to have been true when she was a filly.
 
Like I said, when Rara and Rarity were fillies, the time period of when Applejack became friends with Rara, they had nothing in common with each other other than their cutie marks being in artistic pursuits.

What are you talking about? Rara told AJ all about wanting to go to Manehatten to try her luck at camp. In fact, AJ wanted to go there herself not long before that and live the high life.

They were almost complete opposites other than their talent having to do with artistry. That doesn’t even make sense.

That knowledge that AJ was friendly with Rare cause she reminded her of Rara.
