When you have unpopular opinion expect drama and everyone calling you duck. I respect your opinion. You said which writer you don’t like. Which writer you do like?
I literally didn’t lash out at all. You’re the only one doing that. We’re having a discussion about our own opinions, I never insulted anyone. The one time I stated anything was a fact was a mistake in how I phrased it and I’ve already apologized for potential misunderstandings. I insulted nobody in the post you’re responding to. Clearly you’re only ready what you want to read and not what I actually wrote since you insist I’ve “constantly” spouted something that I’ve only said once and already apologized for.
Now if you can’t take my opinions, maybe you should take your own advice and get out. I have no disrespect for anyone here, I just want to be able to express my own thoughts.
Childish? It’s a children’s show.
Fuckin’ hell… How depressed is your life that you have to lash out like this?
Constantly spouting your opinion with “it’s a fact” doesn’t make you right, it only makes you sound pretentious.
Look, I don’t like several episodes either. I also don’t cry about it, because what is that supposed to change? What do you gain from it? Finding there are others who don’t like the same episodes as you? Whoop-dee-friggin-doo.
The reason for that is that it was written and produced to be the season 1 finale. It ended up airing as the season 2 premiere instead because Hasbro wanted full seasons to be 26 episodes.
Well, yes, the second half had some issues as well.
Still not perfect, but a good episode. It’s just my least favorite season finale so far.
For most people, it’s what happened afterwards.
That’s actually a rather narrow view. Season 1 and 2 had their share of faults and, honestly, were kind of childish in some respects. I still enjoy them and I’ll go back and watch many of those episodes, but the show has shown progression as time has gone on.
A Canterlot Wedding, while a good episode, had a number of faults that do rub me the wrong way. It’s not a perfect episode, nor is it my favorite finale. {Namely based around Twilight Sparkle’s rather inane way of thinking and accusing Cadance of being evil in the first half} I don’t see why a number of people refuse to continue. The show is still going strong.
I think that A Canterlot Wedding was an awesome episode and a good finale. I’m not one of the ones that hated having a new alicorn, so I don’t think there was anything bad about it at all. Introducing her brother that late and that lazily was pretty lame, but it was easy to get over. I don’t even think Return of Harmony was very good, personally. I would have been really unhappy with it being the finale.
Another reason I say that A Canterlot Wedding is the finale is that Lauren Faust had a small role in the early story ideas for it. It didn’t get made until she left, but her ideas still rubbed off on it. She didn’t have anything to do with any of the episodes after it, though, so to me they’re just gloried fan-fiction.
It has potential to be. It has an air of finality to it. It happening after so many moments where the ponies were asses to each other would definitely have worked.
I thought they had horrible attempts at storytelling and bad characterizations.
@untraceablelarry
The show stopped being good, because it tried way too hard starting in the third season. The first two seasons have a charming appeal to them that’s enjoyable to sit through. Starting with Season 3, they did nothing but pander to Bronies and failed to tell any stories that were actually any good at all. Season 3 was also when they got the idea in their heads that references on their own count as jokes and they made lots of really lame pop-culture jokes that take you out of your suspension of disbelief and cheapen the fictional universe of the show.
Season 2 was good, though. Return of Harmony can’t be the finale.
Anyway, I will say that I find Larson’s episodes to be oddly inconsistent. One day he writes The Cutie Mark Chronicles, probably one of the best episodes of the show, and another day he writes Swarm of the Century, an episode that is essentially ruined by Pinkie’s complete unwillingness to explain anything to her friends, and is so annoying to watch because of that… Actually, looking at the episodes he has written that I have not liked, most of them have one really stupid element that has ruined it completely for me… Be it the complete and utter lack of economic sense shown by every relevant party in the Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000, the utter ridiculousness of a character becoming a hermit because one friend didn’t show up to her party in Amending Fences, Pinkie ruining everything always in Luna Eclipsed… His mistakes seem comparatively rare, but fatal when they occur. When they are not there, or if you can get past them, as I am pretty sure that many people have in cases like these, the episodes are probably great (I think that the Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 and Amending Fences were both well received, at least, regardless of how I feel about them).
Cutie Map Part 1 and 2 were amazing amazing amazing. Amending Fences was good too, what didn’t you like about it?
Eh… I more prefer Return of Harmony as the series finale if I was butt hurt about Season 3. ACW could qualify as more of a premiere to me.
Each should be writing his/her own light novel, which when popular enough, can be converted into a 26-episode animated feature.
Well I think it breeds variety.
Replace ‘cooks’ with ‘writers’, then you get the analogy from the saying.
Oh, Littlest Pet Shop. Watch a couple episodes….they were okay but it didn’t give me any real drive to watch more….
Also, didn’t care much for the bobble head designs. So the artwork didn’t do it for me.
As it stands, the show has indeed gotten better with how it handles the characters, episodes, and atmosphere of the show. Yes, no season was perfect. Season 1 & 2 had their set of problems and episodes that didn’t work overall, still, it’s all rather fun and I always look into every episode to see something good in it.
I didn’t care for some episodes, but I’ll gladly state something that made me smile or I thought was a good addition to the episode. The only one that I didn’t care for was Trade Ya! because it didn’t give me something to like and it felt like the characters had all gone back to their season 1 selves.
yes opinions differ. I checked wiki (where else?) and i noticed he only wrote episodes of first season. I didn’t watch it that much so i don’t know. Still i like all of his episodes of mlp and those memes are just little jokes that won’t hurt. It depends on your sense of humor. Some may like, some may not.
