Lauren originally wanted the mane 6 to be more unique with body models being different from another. However over 6 years back they got a much smaller budget than they do these days.
And like @TheAntiCat says, if you would revamp their models now it would be really weird. Unless the show gets a spin-off/new generation still involving the current characters, they could update them a little I guess.
The Mane Six were created 6 years ago, when there was probably a grand total of four character models to pick from. Do keep in mind, the Mane Six have exclusive manes, tails and cutie marks.
Do you expect the studio to revamp their models and create havoc among, oh I don’t know, everyone?

No, no, no. That’s awful.
They might be, they’re pretty close. It’s not used too often though. This episode brought out every size and shape they had in stock. Even Troubleshoes’ model. It’s funny that slightly-taller-than-average Twilight was dwarfed by most of the McColts.
