I’m glad the town’s using it for something, and kept it in good repair after all the crashes and shy-chases and thefts. Ponies in hot air balloons - what could possibly go wrong? - is good technicolor horse myth.

I always assumed the balloon was Twilight’s, but it seems more likely now that she just rents it every time she’s used it before.

According to the wiki, the last time we saw it was in MMC and the previous episode where it actually played a part in the plot was Spike at Your Service. It’s appearance was long overdue.
