I’m glad I didn’t know that was a thing, I like the little guy.
Also, no matter how you view Twi and Spike’s relationship, almost all of them involves respecting each other, either as lovers, siblings, mother-son or master-servant. Making Spike a slave is just in bad taste.

well… there’s some scary parallels between spike and what basically describes an ethnic slave. there’s no way it was intentional (though, twilight was incredibly uncaring and aloof of spike in the first season, and his super secret origin of mystery is incredibly sketchy), but call a spade a spade, you know?

Seriously…I see nothing that even remotely shows that Spike is a “slave” to Twi in the show, now if she was literally having him beg for food to eat and looks like he woke up after a night in boxing ring and a bar fight, then yeah, but he shows nothing of the sort in regards to that.

I agree in the sense that it’s pointless and causes Bon Bon/Sweetie Drops to be nothing more that Lyra’s lesbian lover/the straight mare for Lyra. In short, while the other “Background Mane Six” can stand on their own, Bon is crippled and has less of a personality than Flash. I know what I said, and I’m not taking it back.
