For me it depends on the version.

Ocarina is my favorite version of Ganondorf

And for Ganon, it’s the Warriors version

Tears of the Kingdom is best Dorf for me, with Twilight Princess being the best Ganon

I did like the Twilight version at one point, but I kinda lost interest moving forward (idk if it’s because of his inclusion in Smash or how they handled him as the final boss). That said, I also really liked what they did with him in Warriors.

I also want to give a shoutout to Ocarina’s Ganon for how terrifying he is, and that Ultimate would actually include him as both a boss battle and Ganondorf’s final smash.

Ganondorf’s Role in Hyrule Warriors was Fine overall.

Yeah it was pretty Good having Ocarina’s Ganon be featured in SSBU, besides that his Design in Ocarina of Time made him indeed Terrifying/Intimidating. :)

To be fair, I wouldn’t have anything against Zelda and Ganondorf’s designs if they at least added more to them in Sm4sh. Have both OoT and TP instead of just TP, maybe throw in some extras just to liven them up because seeing them just use the same design as last time is kinda boring, especially if you aren’t that big a fan of those versions.
Now thankfully Sakurai completely redeemed them in Ultimate, bring back OoT Ganondorf was great to see,

And ALBW/ALttP Zelda I absolutely love, she’s my favorite version of her.

I don’t recall exactly, as that was long ago, and half the Zelda fandom refused to give “Cel-da” a chance back then, (in the early 2000s expressionistic graphics were kinda controversial, because realistic “brown is real” was popular back then) but some thought it was an interesting twist.

I remember back when all Nintendo revealed about the plot was “Link has to save his sister,” so some just assumed the whole story was just “another damsel in distress” plot, but it’s really not, you even rescue her halfway through the game and Windwaker’s story is much deeper and darker than people give it credit for.

I am curious what that would be like, though WindWaker would definitely have to be animated and take many liberties, as you can’t just have a movie about a guy in a boat for most of it.

I absolutely adore SSBU’s adorable ALBW Zelda design, and it’s nice to see a more cheerful version of her, as opposed to all the frowning Zeldas we got in previous Smash games.

And Ganondorf finally uses his sword, which many fans wanted for decades. (While ironically complaining about there being “too many sword user characters in Smash.)

Warriors Ganon is pretty underrated, and it’s always nice to see beast/demon Ganon return. Classic Ganon will always be my favorite Ganon.

I kinda like her. She’s not sassy and amusing like other Zelda sidekicks like Midna or Ezlo, but she has a nice design, and her dancing animations are beautiful.

I’ll agree on that much, but she’s so annoying when it comes to pointing out my health or other useless stuff

Skyward Sword HD cut down on the handholding a bit luckily.

Understandable. To Skyward Sword’s credit, I enjoyed the themes to the Lanayru Mining Facility and Koloktos’ theme
