I cringe at characters familiar with the concept of Zombies somehow not taking weapons with them when faced with a Zombie outbreak.

You don't need a freaking Machine Gun or Chainsaw, knowing how to swing a Bat or pick up and throw big rocks should at least be enough to keep a mindless Normal Infecteds at bay.
