There's an art event for season 2 finale, Crystal Empire and EG, but not MMC. Why?

When Derpibooru was celebrating A Canterlot Wedding with the 10th anniversary of the episode, I wanted to give it a shot, but I couldn’t due to personal reasons. However, I love the idea of anniversaries where we celebrate the existence and the story of so many episodes in MLP: Friendship is Magic.

There was one for Crystal Empire, but I waited for Magical Mystery Cure, since I like this episode more than Crystal Empire. Unfortunately, no matter how long I waited, there was no anniversary event in this website for this episode. Then I heard there’s an anniversary event for the first Equestria Girls movie. So I need to ask: Why is it okay to discard an anniversary event for the season 3 finale? Is it because it’s one episode instead of two episodes and therefore it doesn’tt deserve an art event?

I’m not saying that every single episode of the show should deserve the same treatment other episodes got in their respective anniversaries. I’m saying that, considering how the season 3 ended, it would make sense to prepare an art event for the anniversary. It seems to be completely arbitrary.

The Crystal Empire event was an idea someone else had that seemed fun and unique to play with, same with EQG, there’s a lot of open-endedness to both prompts. For MMC, there’s not a whole lot to it beyond Alicorn Twilight which people draw all the time anyway. Half the point of events is to encourage drawing different topics and give a wide range of related topics within them so people aren’t pigeonholed into only drawing the focus of the event. It’s why I gave the Crystal Empire event the name I did instead of just Sombra despite it mainly being for him, and the EQG event, I wanted it to be pretty open to even OCs if desired.

MMC is indeed a monumental occasion for the series, but EQG 1 and it are rather close together in terms of release and EQG offers more open-ended ideas.

Plus, MMC aired around last march, then April fools…yeah. (Or feb checking the date, and that was right after the collab…)

Too many events happening too close together is overwhelming. It makes the most sense to choose the most unique and open-ended ones. I don’t want to force people to draw things they don’t want to to be able to participate.

I was actually going to upload some new alicorn triarchy or tetrarchy image featuring Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, and one or two other ponies a while ago but decided to wait on it in case a Magical Mystery Cure event happened so I could get a badge for drawing alicorn ponies (I assumed that would be the prompt). I should have just gone on and drew that instead of waiting for something that never happened, but it doesn’t matter now.

Lesson learned, never assume there will be events for anything and always assume the current event will be the last art event or collab ever.

Hi, sorry for not answering earlier, but I can understand it. The more art events you want to prepare in a short time, the more tiring the process will be, so from that angle I can see that.

To avoid concerns like this, I think I’m gonna make some arts of some episodes when the time is right instead of waiting for Derpibooru to announce an art event.
