Drawing pony is hard. Anime and manga? Super easy. Ponies and anthro ponies? Super duper hard.

Gonna have to practice some more. Lots, lots, lots more.

Thank you for the suggestion, but cats are even harder for me. I think I’ll just slam my face against Trixie for awhile, and see what happens.

Doodled during the natg

Wow I messed up my whole everything with my last drawing. Super happy with it, because I finally worked myself up to doing a whole page of a comic (complete with text!), but I think I went too far and ended up injuring myself.

So I spent the whole day getting my drawing table out of the attic, cleaning the bat doo-doo off of it, and finding a corner for it. As of now, I am uploading the thing I drew today, which feels more like the rhythm I’m used to so maybe that’s for the best. Pics related.

I’m close to being able to draw the way I feel like I should be drawing again though, and was able to do a nice start for a bar scene ^_^

My challenge to myself is to draw all the least loved ships on the site. And it looks like almost all of them involve Zephyr Breeze (Surprise! Surprise!). But oh my god I hate his hair. That bun is going to kill me.

PS: I have decided that ponies drink beer through a straw. Because I can not even the ‘how they hold the glass’.

Woo! I get to post something in the SFW version of this thread again! Feels good to have been able to finish a second “I think this is as done as I can make it!” drawing. I might try coloring it later, but … that’s a whole different bag of magic that I’m not sure I’m ready for yet.

I didn’t believe I could ship these two, but the more they’ve been wrecking the furniture in my head, the more they ‘make sense’. And … gradually … Zephyr is becoming Dermott “Spinning Murder Top” Fictel from Venture Brothers.

At some point, these two are going to do it. And angels will weep.

Today’s comic is Bon Bon telling a joke. Or, at least, the punchline for a joke.

If anyone would like the full joke let me know - but I assume it’s obvious to anyone using this site ^_^

Also … I did not realize how close Bon Bon is to Sweetie Belle. I felt myself drawing Sweetie Belle and had to grab the steering wheel HARD to get her back to Bon Bon. I think it’s the hair - that G4 swirly cloud-like hair.

also also those aren’t lazers coming out of Bon Bon’s eyes - I’m practicing getting characters to look at things. Getting eyeballs to ‘line up’ with the thing they’re pointing at is something I kind of have trouble with, and drawing a triangle between the ‘thing looked at’ and the two centers of the pupils helps me get closer.
