I tried watching it, its a fucking awful show. Yes I watched parts of the more recent episodes but I gave nothing but a bored expression, the humor is bland, the plot is stupid as hell (Crystal fighters from outerspace are you fucking kidding me?), the animation looks so boring and generic and the character designs look really boring too. Theres nothing visually interesting, theres nothing interesting in its writing or humor the whole show is just boring and soulless.

I’ll concede that there are some good episodes, any show can do that at one point or another, but it doesn’t change the core of the show…it’s still sociopathic assholes being sociopaths and hurting innocent people constantly.

Because it just sounds so ridiculous and over the top. It was literally an idea that even I came up with when I was in elementary school.

Also why do they have to be from outer space, like are plain crystal fighters not enough, do you have to add on the space element to seal the deal? Like come on thats just predictable writing, ill admit that the crystal warriors part isnt all that bad but why use the outerspace cliché?

Even outside of that, I still fail to see the problem you have with its premise.  
I mean yeah they’re from space, the story they chose hinges upon that in place for that is the lore they chose for the Gems. I’m not seeing how this is an inherit writing sin.

Because its a cliché im tired of seeing. Ill admit that its a minor problem and something that I could easily shrug off if the rest of the show was actually likable in any way, but it isnt.

As for me, you can already guess that the premise and what not are actually pluses for me. While I find the show fine, fine is all I can give it. I has a lot grand points to it, but only really exercises a few of them and of that few they even overwork pieces of it (bitch tears character moments, too many of them), and the other only points only really get a passing glance and are weaker for it like the comedy.  
I know there are those who wish MLP leaned more towards just character moments and subtract from the comedy, adventure, and what not, but I honestly admire the show for working on all parts of itself instead of sticking to the character moments alone. Making character moments or emotional moments just for the sake of that is a writing sin for me.

As a 100% Orange Juice Player, I can confirm that Seagulls are the biggest assholes of the animal kingdom and are completely irredeemable as a whole.
 
Seagulls alone are what convinced me that Hitler had the right idea with cultural genocide, just the wrong target. ~~Don’t take that srsly pls, thx~~~

Cultural genocide (and it’s synonym, ethnocide) is kinda of a dead term, most just use cultural cleansing and use it to define acts like the destruction of culturally significant locations and artifacts like what ISIS did.

You can say that… he was even able to seduce Cindy Vortex into a short lived relationship when he switched shows with Jimmy Neutron in a crossover mini-movie when he wished for a science lab. Speaking of which, Jimmy Neutron looked nice in Fairly Odd Parents 2D btw.
