Mine is SH: Downpour and 2.
I need to get the original to and play SH2 more to get the chainsaw.
I also want to play SH4: the Room and finish Origins on the PSP.

Downpour was pretty good. It also had one of my favourite endings in the series.

I thought the movie was okay. Not great but as far as video game movies go, it was pretty good.

I thought it was pretty bad as an adaptation, but I don’t know how to judge it as it’s own movie. It got some of the atmosphere right, but a lot of things are just wrong. Like changing Harry to Rose. And aside from that, there’s three things I just can’t get over.
One:Remember in the game how Harry and Cheryl went to Silent Hill for a vacation, and Silent Hill from the outisde view looks just like a resort town and nobody except Silent Hill’s victims know about it’s dark side? In the movie, Rose sends Cheryl(or Sharon) there because she constantly shouted “Silent Hill!”. And Silent Hill in the movie is clearly a dangerous place, and everyone in the movie knows that.
Two:Why the hell did they change Dahlia’s character? It’s bad enough they changed Harry into a girl because the director stupidly believed film audiences wouldn’t like someone like Harry, but Dahlia’s a completely different character in the movie.
Three:I know this is a common complaint but, why the hell is Pyramid Head in the movie? Even if you think he’s a symbolic representation of guilt and isn’t exclusive to James, what does he have to do with the theme of the movie? People who aren’t familar with him will just go “Who the hell’s that?”, while the fans would just go “Why?!”.
If you want to see why Silent hill is a bad adaptation, go watch Phelous’ reviews of the movie on his site.

Actually, in game Silent hill is a cesspool of cultists and drug traffickers. Cybil even tells you that they sell drugs to the tourists. Odd that they threw that plotline out the window.
And yeah, Dahlia should have been the batshit crazy lady from the game. “It was foretold by gyromancy!”
Apparently gyromancy means spinning around in circles and collapsing in a circle…

At least in the game, it wasn’t known as a super dangerous town that you shouldn’t ever go to. And in the movie, there’s a gate blocking the path to Silent Hill, which means no one should go there EVER.

I kinda liked the idea. A city that looks safe but is burning under the ground. Still, it has nothing on game Silent Hill.

Yeah, movie Silent Hill is worthless compared to game Silent Hill. Also, in the movie, everyone thinks that Silent Hill is a dangerous place. EVERYONE.

That’s the beauty of Silent Hill. It’s a town like any other, just with a cult hidding in it.

And some sort of mystical, malevolent entity hiding in it, only interested in certain people. And when those people come, only then will it shows its true colors. Which just makes it scarier, you can never know whether or not you’ll enter the dark side or its normal side.

It was the first one, and I kind of liked Murphy, also didn’t help Homecoming was the next… The has problems yes, but still felt it was the better of the 2. Then I got the SH collection which should have come with SH1 like MGS: legacy did.

I liked Downpour too. Great game. A few glitches here and there but nothing major. And it has my favourite ending.

Well, to be fair. Silent Hill 1 was a PS1 game, and it probably wouldn’t fit as well as Silent Hill 2 & 3. And even in the MGS HD collection, MGS1 wasn’t in there. Mind you, that doesn’t excuse the exclusion of Silent Hill 4 and how shitty the collection was when the MGS HD Collection, which had MGS2, MGS3 and Peace Walker was by all means, really good.

Y’know what? I’m with you and Yahtzee on this one. Of the non-Team Silent games, Downpour was probably the best.

Yeah, but you got a code to download MGS1. Then again, Silent Hill is pretty mistreated by Konami.

That’s what happens when you own the IP to one of the biggest gaming franchises ever. And I still can’t believe Konami laid off freakin’ Kojima. And also what happens when you leave the development of a beloved survival horror series in less than competent hands.
