Alicorn mojo aside, I’ve wondered for quite some time whether Rarity’s rock-homing talent (which dragged her for miles as a filly, mind) couldn’t be refined/expanded into flight with a power-focusing rig along these lines. Kinda like Terra from Teen Titans utilizing her geokinesis(??) to surf on stone slabs.
In other news, also digging (a) battle-worn Spike and (b) the general concept of each new princess’ Element manifesting in an overtly visible sense (like Celly & Luna’s manes, which don’t seem too organic either at full power).
She sprung for the DLC ones obviously.

well honestly, the important thing about alicorns is more that they possess all 3 races types of magic (as well as alicorn magic), so I don’t feel that Having Inorganic wings is an issue so long as the wings are more or less “her” in a magical sense.
but see, that’s a slightly different case. Rainbow Dash already has wings, but in that image she now has a horn as well, which clearly isn’t artifical. So regardless of what her wings look like, she’s an alicorn.
But this rarity has the same old horn as she ever did, and a pair of artificial wings.
Well, I would feel that if the Alicorn in question could spontaneously generate their wings even if the wings weren’t flesh (such as in the dash image below), it wouldn’t really be much different from having flesh wings.
also, is this really alicorn rarity? does it still count if the wings are artificial?
