Right. And Twilight Sparkle’s mark represents turning her parents into plants.
So, Hurricane’s special talent is beating people up?
Her? Hurricane is actually a stallion in the book. The picture doesn’t exactly look that way, but that’s just the ponies ancient storytelling art style or something; difficult to tell gender at a first glance.
Except Photo Finish makes DA MAJYKKS!™
True, Hurricane’s interpretation of her talent could’ve been magical in some regard, but it still seems odd.
It’s as relevant as Photo Finish’s cutie mark was, assuming that she only appeared in book outside of the main cartoon.
Which is to say, not at all. For now.
Yeah, but still
I really don’t want this to be relevant.
Hurricane could have been a stargazer, or wanted to conquer everything under the stars.
Or really, really liked magic tricks. Cutie marks are pretty abstract when they aren’t completely abstract, and we’ve seen an earth pony with this mark.
I’m not buying it. Commander Hurricane has jack squat to do with the unicorns.
Beyond the fact that Hurricane is an important figure is the fact that unlike background ponies,that have random cutie marks, this was a deliberate choice in the book. So it is 100 times more likely to mean something, IMO.
Okay, maybe he’s Twilight’s ancestor or something, or maybe it’s just a coincidence. Odd either way.
@cheezedoodle
Or maybe this, but it belonging to an important history figure rather than a background pony seems more significant.
Somehow, I doubt that Hurricane would be given that mark in the show.
