I’m not a “he”, honey. I’m a woman that grew up with ponies in the 80’s, and used to be the same kind of vapid excuse for a “feminist” as this artist when I was younger.

It’s not the asserting that’s the problem. I initially went to the link to LIKE this drawing. It was the act of a political stance being forced onto a character that really DOESN’T represent it AT ALL, and then making the statement that anyone who thinks otherwise (about what is essentially someone’s HEADCANON, and NOT FACT) is therefore “garbage”.

There’s a right way and a wrong way to promote an ideal. Insulting people from the get-go is absolutely the WRONG way.

Actually, his point was that feminism is “automatically shit” because some people accurately relate the cartoon to it, which is somehow forcing it on others. It’s really not “low”, “scumbag”, “abuse”, or anything like that; fiction reflects how people perceive reality, so it’s reasonable to compare fictional characters and situations to real social issues.

last I checked there is no political ideology presented in the show. and so what if Faust is a feminist, what does that matter? the point of tena’s post is that if you need to use someone/something else as a mouth piece your proposition lacks merit as you by yourself lack the agency to propose your opinion. it is a lowly tactic that abuses someone else’s(in this case a fictional character’s) reputation as a sheild to forward ones own belief. what’s more is that this is a straw man falacy, attacking a concept that is long since outdated(only time it is used today is for humor/historic reference) and cannot be refuted and is used by association to promote a certain ideology. it’s like saying that because there is evolution, god doesnt exist, when evolution does not have anything to do with the existence of a god or not. it just merely proposes an explanation as to why similar life forms are similar(because they are similar).
No fucking shit women arent objects, but that does not by any means suggest that feminism is the end all best ideology out there, and for the artist to make such an obnoxious and toxic claim that any form of criticism means that the person responding belongs in refuse as the opinions they hold deems them lesser.
it’s a scumbag move on the part of the artist, on both the creation of the image and the claim they presented with it.

But that is just my opinion :^)

Rarity deliberately evokes pre-feminism women. Unless you count feminism as simply “woman with job” she does not subscribe to any feminist theory in her characterization.

I agree, that is what a feminist is, someone who thinks women are worthy of respect as fellow human beings, which unfortunately isn’t the case when some people twist it into something it wasn’t suppose to be about such as women are superior to men.

“rarity is a feminist”

That’s a nice opinion. It would be a shame if something… happened to it.

From the thumbnail, I thought it said “Ladies and hot objects”, which sounds like a rather… unconventional say to say “Ladies and gentlemen”.
