But yet again, that is a good reference
Oh yeah, I forgot about those.
Blaze used to power of the Sol Emeralds, not the Chaos Emeralds.
A single chaos emerald is a very powerful energy source in its own right, as is any group smaller than the complete set. The Elements are useless without all six.
More importantly, the chaos emeralds are, as mentioned, basically energy sources, and can be used for good or evil; they’ve been used to power airplanes, weaponry, etc. The Elements of Harmony are most likely bound to their bearers, or at the very least require a worthy user.
It’s possible they both absorbed the positive energy to, seeing how Shadow became more positive-minded, and “reformed,” at the time. (Considering Sonic & Blaze have turned “Super” together, as well. So apparently it is possible for more then one character to use it’s power at a time.)
Y’know, I was kinda disapointed “Sonic Heroes” didn’t bring Tails’ & Knuckles’ Super forms back from “Sonic 3 & Knuckles.” That was a real missed-opportunity…
@Sonic10974
Who ever said they were “abandoned forever?”
Yes. Chaos used the “negative energy” because he was still furious over what had happened all those years ago. While Sonic used the positive energy– the hope of the people– to become Super Sonic, and the two energies ended up cancelling each other out.
I remember seeing something somewhere that suggested that Sonic and Shadow were able to go into their Super forms at the end of SA2 at the same time because Sonic was using the positive energy and Shadow was using the negative energy. But nothing in-game actually suggests this; it’s strictly fanon guessing.
Indeed, as shown in SA2, the Master Emerald can be used to control their power. Though, they can be used without it, the Master Emerald can also be used to turn off the 7 emeralds power temporarily, and such, as well.
Oddly it’s a double meaning, “the controller” is both the one using it and the master emerald.
What I think that means the power of the chaos emeralds (whether positive, or negative) depends on who is using them, and how they’re being used.
The second point here is the only one that is right.
I’m sorry, to Hidden Palace, where they give away the Emeralds and are awarded with a Box–
I’m sorry, with seven inactive Super Emeralds, and then are encouraged to activate Super Emeralds by finding keys–
I’m sorry, by completing harder special stages in order to unlock Rainbow Power. Also known as Hyper Sonic.
There isn’t much to go off of. It’s either the comics, or the varying games that contradict each other.
The official number of chaos emeralds remained at 7 around like 1997 or 1998.
Can we really count the comics as canon?
Just look at Fleetways Sonic comics…
@Beau Skunky
I think Spinball had 16 chaps emeralds.
The first 6-bits and the first Genesis Sonic game only had 6 chaos emeralds as well.
There are sixteen in sonic spinball and they are all blue
Uh, the comics and the games are completely separate continuities.
To add further confusion, ONE Sonic game had 8 chaos emeralds. (Sonic the Fighters.) I also think “Sonic Spinball” had more to.
