And once again the fandom here forgets that we’re not the target audience, nor are we particularly significant in DHX’s and Hasbro’s decision-making. Tossing Flash Sentry in as a continuity nod to EQG would’ve been considered a perfectly reasonable move by the writers and artists. And if it produced a negative reaction by the “bronies”, well, bad press is better than no press at all.
 
Face it, this was a troll. Whether it was Meghan trolling the fandom, or the animators trolling Meghan, it wasn’t meant to annoy anyone who wouldn’t let themselves be annoyed in the first place.

Who would quit? Unless it was physically destroying you, why would you not want to have credit for working on one of the most successful cartoons of the last several decades?
 
Hell, that’s a problem that exists internally in DHX, apparently. Remember hearing about one of them joke that everyone’s so eager to work on FiM. LPS gets four weeks of storyboards per episode, while FiM gets six, IIRC. But I also remember Sibsy saying they structure their schedule to make sure that they’re never without something to work on.

Yeah. I mean, I’m sure that overall they still enjoy interacting with the fanbase, since in general the fan reactions are mostly positive and all, but I keep worrying that some of them (particularly Meghan, since she’s the showrunner and all) might break under all the pressure and quit. And if THAT were to happen, all the people complaining about their work will instantly do an about-face and beg them to stay.

Yeah, the people who are known by name tend to try to keep up a positive face for the fanbase. If only because they have some sense that it’s partially their responsibility, whether that’s true or not.

It wouldn’t surprise me if some of the animators or even some of the writers have become bitter about the fanbase. Heck, I’m surprised that Meghan, Jayson, and most of the others are still willing to interact with us after some of the crap they’ve had to put up with.

I recall hearing about DHX Media animators at the EqG premiere saying they know that there are people who are going to hate what they make regardless of quality. Most weren’t openly hostile, but there was a certain…reaction towards some.

Or they were doing it because they thought that some of the fans would like seeing some continuity. And for all the fans who were assholes about it, some of the fans actually praised them for including him.
