Yeah, but that game, and the cartoons still took about a year to make.
But the odd thing was Sonic CD came out in the US two months after the Cartoons had started, heck it came out in Japan about a week after the cartoons.
Well, seeing how they also refered to Sonic’s homeworld as “Mobius” in the Sonic CD USA manual to, (as well as in Spinball, and Triple Trouble) it’s likely a tie-in, so I think Sega of America was considering naming Amy “Sally” in America originally, but quickly dropped, or forgot about it, and just went with her Japanese name from then on.
Plus “CD” came out the same year the original 2 Sonic cartoons came out, so it makes sense. “Sonic Spinball” had several character cameos in it to from the cartoons. (Including Sally, Bunnie, Scratch, Cluck, and others.) Alot of Sonic merchandise at the time also used the cartoon designs for Robotnik, and such to. So at the time they were kinda pushing the cartoons a bit.
Actually she was named in Japan first with her name that was always used, so the be fair there was really no reason for that and it’s not even known for sure if it was meant to tie-into the show, it’s just the most likely reason it was done but never confirmed.
To be fair, they named Amy that in the first Sonic CD USA manuals (in order to tie-into the SatA.M. cartoon & comic at the time) but afterwords she was called Amy in every other game, (including the PC rerelease of Sonic CD) not to mention Sally & Amy were later regarded as different characters int he comic.
That’s where that confusion came from.
Probably the latter.
ooo okay.
Okay did I miss a major fact or did the artist never do any research because at no point was Amy’s design meant to be Sally.
They couldn’t have just left it a fanfic trope, no, they had to make it canon.
Oh, the game both Sonic-haters, and Sonic-lovers hated, eh? :P
Princess Elise frenching Sonic’s dead body still haunts me.
Sonic ’0Dicks.
When did she have the ability to turn invisible?
Bean rules.
@Takashi.0
Well, there’s also Sally in the comics, and old SatA.M. show whom is also a popular target for being ’shipped with Sonic. Blaze the cat also seems popular with a few fans. Sonic fans are just as relentless with ’shipping as bronies are.
Still doesn’t mean she’s not a creeper.
Hell, two of her abilities are using Tarot cards to predict his movement and turning invisible. Is it any wonder he’s always on edge around her?
Shippers gonna ship man.
I don’t pretend to understand, I just report what I see.
Plus I heard she’s a lot less crazy in Lost World.
Spike is a different case. He’s at most five years younger that Twilight, and she’s a college graduate. Amy is twelve. In Australia, she would only be in primary school.
She’s also not exactly mentally stable. She’s clearly obsessed, and not in a cute way. In a ‘Pepe LePew’ sort of way.
That too.
The same kind that ships Spike and Rarity? Just saying…
And he’s like, fifteen.
But mostly it’s cause she’s the only other girl besides Rouge in the games who’s all that important.
I only said it was close to being pure.
And really, who ships Sonamy, anyway? She’s like, twelve, or something.
At least the artist put some damn effort into it instead of shitting out a ponycreator model or mspaint edit.
I’m faving this and none of you can stop me.
>Sonamy
>Sonic Ponification
I think we’ve come close to pure extract of cancer, guys.
