Rainbow Dash and Twilight were awestruck from realizing that Daring Do was real and behaved as if what they were seeing was a movie of sorts. In other words, they thought the scene to be like a scripted event for her, in which the drama was part of the act.

As for everyone else, yeah, no excuse.

They probably were still under shock due to the fact that Daring Do turned out to be real and was suddenly fighting guys like it was one of her books.
