I think they, and the C.M.C. are a bit older then their pony counterparts, but still a bit younger then the “Mane 6.”

Maybe they’re middle schoolers? My high school and middle school were the same building back when I was in school, so the idea of little kids running around isn’t that much of a stretch for me. About the other students not doing anything, if they’re like how kids are, they either don’t give two shits or are just plain lousy.
