These reviews never get old

“My daughters and I being big fans of the show, I thought this would be the perfect movie to get for them. We already have the Canterlot Wedding episodes on DVD as well as several of their favorite episodes always on the DVR.

I thought the R rating was a mistake, but because the cover looked a bit… grim and frightening, I decided to check it out first before I gave it to the girls. All I can say is that I am SO GLAD I did!

While it was a good (maybe even great) movie on its own, with really a surprisingly sophisticated and even sometimes unflinchingly harsh story, it is not suitable for kids. The scenes of executions and mass graves went on for simply far too long, and the whole brutalization on Fluttershy thing (especially all of the pseudo-sexual stuff- ick!), I could have done without. Even with the amazing story arc with Rainbow Dash bringing her back from the brink, I still thought it was really too much, but that’s just me. And I thought the Big Mac stuff could have been cut significantly. It was really cool, but it didn’t seem to advance the story that much.

Great writing and stunning voice work, but just way too grown-up for my kids. It will be going in our (my wife’s and mine) personal collection till the girls get a lot older.

I still don’t understand why they use the anthro designs in almost all marketing for the movie. That’d be like putting Super Sonic on the cover of a Sonic the Hedgehog game.

…….Well, I could, but it’s just that to be fair, I love everything I watch, eat, and play, I can’t really be critical because it’s just not me, okay, I don’t like certain things, but even then, they’re really minor, for example, I don’t like beets ‘cause they have a expired jello taste to me, but, gues what, to each to their own, yeah, I should have learned that, but still, if we don’t like something, we have to be constructive while criticising something, just using a link to somebody else doesn’t count, just saying……., and this conversation is over.

Well, guess what, I still like Twilight, no matter what happens to the character in general, shes still the adorkable pony in my heart, for being a Brony, you’re quite cynic, you need to look things in a positive way….

In real life, that’s how I actually work, if I don’t like something, I just shut, to be really frank, the fuck up, and I remain on good terms with that person and no one’s feelings, or jimmies get hurt or rustled…..

I’m not defending anyone, I’m just saying in general that if anybody doesn’t have anything remotely positive about Equestria Girls, then keep your maw shut like a real person would do……
