You know non American author can write stories about the USA right ? also the “the world” isn’t comprised of only the US, Canada, Ireland and the UK which is the countries that are the inspirations for Captainhoers Equestria, and if were being real it’s mostly modeled around the US and England (with occasional irish or welsh text if i remember well ?) The EASA logo is basically the NASA logo, the history of Equestria follow the US one, their culture are based 1/1 to American one, Pony Tony Hawk used to be the chief of the wonderbolts before it basically became the NFL for a while, most city we see are modeled around US ones, etc…
For the case of Stardust it’s the 20s America with a futurist texture pack and some commie utopia stuff i guess ?

Okay that’s actually a very good point. I would argue however that these being individual pictures took by members likely for their own country/social medias and not a official picture made for a highly mediatized international mission like in Concorde situation change it a little ? I wouldn’t surprised if i was wrong but i feel like changing that flag for any other flag would still be a bit weird.

I kind of see equestria as already being communist/socialist under the rule of benevolent alicorn dictators.

It’s the dictators that were removed and replaced with democracy in this revolution, turning the country to democratic socialism.

The flag situation you describe seems to have happened on the international space station several times without incident. I apologize if my attempts to link the images fail, but the only notable time there was an incident was when the Russians tried to show off some kind of pro Ukraine war flag a few years ago?

The majority of Concorde’s troubles in this area so far haven’t been institutional but individual, of people not knowing or not understanding, rather than outright oppression or erasure.

Honestly that is a misreading so significant that the lack of reading comprehension it exposes crosses the line into being actually impressive.

The author isn’t even American, and while the worst elements of especially the Sunjackers timeline are clearly inspired by extrapolating the America of today, it clearly combines influences from around the world - and this timeline in particular is notable for the ways it differs from what we are used to, what with the recent revolution and all. Someone clearly has not been paying any attention at all.

As they should. If i was part of a international mission and pulled up a Chinese flag it would be inapropriate. Why ? Because even if i consider it part of my personality it does not represent neither the other members or more importantly whatever agency or entity supervising us. And it can also obviously cause backlashes, that is a risk with every flag, especially LGBT pride ones.

Actually it does take place in 2025 America with a pony reskin. Just like all of that artist comics.
