…and who put a gun to YOUR head to make you keep responding? And how the heck do you lump me with “Commander” right after mentioning my “middle man crap?” And who died and made you the Frowning Pony? Why do you need to scowl at me and make judgement calls on what conversations I should post in or who the stuck-ups or whiners are? Sounds to me like YOU’RE the one with butthurt; go get some preparation H and come back when you’ve got your issues sorted out.

So who put the gun to your head to make you type all this middle man crap? Why did you need to be here at all, wasn’t this thread already dead and buried 17 days ago? Why is it that “Commander” and now you have to keep this conversation going? You that bored or something? Just move along already, I have better things to do with my time than listen to stuck-ups and whiners pretending they know better than everyone else….

…I currently own both a Wii and a PS3. I grew up playing SEGA systems until they became third party, and then got a gamecube. Nothing about the PS4 interests me yet, and the only incentives I have for the WiiU are Lost World and the new Smash Bros., and to be fair I started with Brawl. Also, Mega Man. It’d been nice if they also kept Sonic, especially in light of their exclusive deal with Nintendo and the Sonic/Mega Man crossover in the Archie Comics; a missed opportunity I feel. Also, right now Steam seems more attractive to me than anything right now, but I’ve only had this attitude for a couple of months; I initially only got it because TF2 became F2P, and I wouldn’t have bought any games if they hadn’t come out with prepaid cards this year.

…I guess what I’m trying to say is: if anybody should call anybody out for fanboyism, it’s me. Yes, okay, so the sequels for many franchises are blandly formulaic, as are many of the games following certain trends; IMHO, indie games represent the sweet spot at the moment.

Speaking as a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise from the very start, I was personally disappointed with Sonic Colors; what set apart was little more than a gimmick, and the entire game felt generic, shallow, constrained, clumsy, and short. Sonic Generations was definitely better, but that was because they revisited snippets of previous material from various games, put a new spin on them, and just generally played around with Sonic’s legacy like a kitten with a ball of yarn. It’s a cool way to celebrate an anniversary, but the franchise will turn ouroboros if it keeps making games like that.

To me it appears Lost World has potential because the gameplay, at least on paper, sounds more thoughtful, engaging, and fresh than the fumes the franchise has been running on for years now. They even take the risk of removing Robotnik/Eggman from the equation altogether (or at least that’s what’s been implied), so they must really be serious this time.

Now, notice how I gauged each game case by case; I wasn’t making a generalization about the franchise or the developer or the console or the genre or the presentation. I could’ve made the typical blanket complaints that the fanbase is prone to, but I didn’t. I don’t play a plethora of games simultaneously; I only play one game at any one time. I don’t think anyone else plays any differently, and the smart ones actually take this into account instead of slinging mud around to make themselves feel better about a slimmer wallet.

Well said, though with you being the rock in question I’m shocked you would want to stop this discussion since you clearly kept it going. No one’s forcing you to respond y’know. And really? “The fact that you’d choose one group of fanboys over the other says it all.” Says the guy who keeps bitching about Nintendo zealots, hello pot this is kettle.

I sure hope you keep your word when you say you’re gonna piss off.
TheCommander

@Tyrranux
I’d rather go with none and the fact that you’d choose one group of fanboys over the other says it all. I’ll just stop the discussion because discussing with fanboys is like talking to a rock, you go nowhere.

Your EXPERIENCE is not shared by the majority of people, while you happen to have a few Nintendo Zealots acting bitchier that Sunset Shimmer all in your face the rest of us put up with the idiots on the other side of the spectrum.

I say you lucked out in hindsight! Personally I’d rather put up with the blind idiots blindly thinking Nintendo is God than listen to the utter fucktards who think Kingdom Hearts should be a privilege only reserved for the Sony fanbase!
TheCommander

@Tyrranux
You make it out to seem that Sony has none. Every fanbase has it’s good and bad people. In MY EXPERIENCE (capitalized so that you notice it) Nintendo gets more leeway by its fanboys when they keep making sequels and re-releases and no one bats an eye. Just look at E3 this year.

Hmmm, this comment has a lot of typos in it, let me fix those typos for ya….

I’ve seen a lot of Nintendo Sony fanboys and fangirls that act as if Nintendo Sony is god and gets away with it. The same goes for Nintendo Sony themselves, they can recreate Mario Killzone and Zelda God of War games over and over again and their fans will still praise it wherein any other companies Nintendo will be demonized if they try to recreate a franchise. It is almost a sin to hate on Nintendo Sony and any who does will be treated as heathen whilst they will be praised for hating on anyone else.

There, typos fixed. Seriously you can point fingers at the more feral Nintendo fanboys all you want, idiots as they are they are still more decent people compared to the hardcore Nintendo haters, not to mention that there are a lot more Nintendo haters than Nintendo zealots.

LOL. I know exactly what you’re talking about! I recently said on a youtube video the new lttp game looked bad in my opinion, gave my reason why, and for several days now I’ve been getting hate messages from those fans. I’ve been playing video games for 20 years, I’m pretty sure I know bad material when I see it. In the end it really doesn’t matter what you say to them, any negative comment in the smallest degree and they’ll go after you. They’re exactly like Nobuo uematsu’s fans. Tell them you don’t find his music all that inspirational and they’ll come after you.

personally I feel that the legend of zelda series shouldn’t be absurdly cartoony in appearance, especially in color scheme. I don’t mind cartoony styled things when i’m just watching something, but when I’m actually playing a game it breaks immersion for me, and it gives me a headache quicker.

some nintendo fanboy and fangirls don’t see them as “gods” and treat them like an actual company and see their actual mistakes,i’m a nintendo fan since the n64 days and i don’t like how there doing lately mostly the whole upgrade hardware for the wii u.

Quite the contrary in my experience. I’ve seen a lot of Nintendo fanboys and fangirls that act as if Nintendo is god and gets away with it. i don’t know,i bet they’re complaining cause either sega is given them what they asked for since generations,they thought it’d be a cool idea by bringing back the xtreme gameplay with modern sonic which i think looks good minus the run button (i don’t know why sega did that) also dimp’s who did the rush games and sonic generations 3ds port is doing the lost world port on 3ds and it looks awesome.

@Kerion
yeah like for example i’ve seen people complaning about link to the past 2 for being too cartoony and plastic looking given it’s lttp link artwork in 3d chibi and sonic lost world by looking too “cartoony” compared to the previous sonic games.
