After reading this, I can’t think of ANY movie that has been made to this story’s standard. If there hasn’t been one, we need to pitch one.
The masculine woman and the feminine man fall in love when the former defends the latter from bullies. Both decide to try and better fit their respective gender archetypes in order to be more attractive to the other, not recognizing the attraction that’s already there. Fairly basic comical romance plot (as opposed to romantic comedy, where the focus is more on the lol than the d’aww) with some gender identity assumptions thrown in for spice.
