Description

Now that we’ve got another episode of MLSiaD starting up, here are the voices for some of the new characters in the Ester Dracos Arc!
Lily/Marcy Wu - I will confess, Marcy from Amphibia was the big inspiration behind Lily. Her personality is quite similar in being she’s very smart and nerdy and can talk a mile a minute about anything she has been educated on. Marcy’s voice is still adult-sounding just like all the other teens in Amphibia, but Lily is a bit older than Butter, probably about Marcy’s age, so she can have a child voice that is actually being done by an adult. Those always work out pretty good.
Aster/Batty Koda - Yes yes, I hear you: the legendary Robin Williams is no longer with us (sadly), but I couldn’t go through one of these without using him, and just like with Lily, Aster’s character was heavily inspired by him. If he were still around and I were actually in charge of this series and we had the money, I would totally choose Robin to voice him! Aster is also a jokester and does impressions and Robin would have been the perfect fit. Robin’s characters tend to sound just like him all the time, but Batty stood out to me the most. Though he wouldn’t be as paranoid as Batty, he’d definitely partake in some silly jokes like Batty did in Ferngully. I guess you could also picture Fender from Robots or maybe even the Genie from Aladin! You will be missed, Robin!
Azalea/Pearl - Even though I stopped watching Steven Universe a while ago, I did really like the vocal performances in that show and Deedee Magno Hall has such an amazing motherly voice and she sings like an angel! Her Pearl voice really comes to mind when I think of Azalea’s personality and how friendly she’d be. She’d be a lot like Aurora Shine and be just as good of a mother as her!
Tigrinum/Tigatron - Hehe, their names sure do line up. Well I was a bit torn on who to choose for Tigrinum at first. I kinda thought of Chris Sabat’s Piccolo voice from Dragon Ball or Scott McNeil’s Silverbolt voice from Beast Wars, but Blu Mankuma’s Tigatron voice from the latter show sounded more like how I pictured Tigrinum. I haven’t really figured out a lot of what to do with Tigrinum in the story yet, but this is definitely helping out with his personality!
Pansy/Stitch - Was having a bit of a hard time on this one too. I thought maybe there were some animal sounds that Frank Welker did in the past, but I couldn’t find anything quite fitting enough and I didn’t want Pansy to sound exactly like a dog, so I ended up settling on Chris Sanders’ Stitch voice from Lilo and Stitch. Pansy doesn’t speak, she just makes cute animal noises and panting which Chris did a good job at. She might do a bit of a bark sound every so often, but not quite like a dog, just like Stitch wasn’t quite a dog either, but still lovable. :3
Well that’s all for now with these characters! Myosoti and Antirrhinum will be in the next VA list and I will have a few other new characters to show too!
