Description
The fourth chapter for my PinkieShy fanfic “The Letter”.
(written in Fluttershy’s point-of-view)
I went to take care of the injured mercenaries. Today, Scout came in with a broken leg and Demoman with a fractured wrist. I took care of them without thinking of the love letter.
Afterwards, I just felt like I needed some time alone, so I told Dr. Kritz I am going to go somewhere and will be back before dinner time.
I flew to a place that looked like a wreck. There were broken bridges and ammo everywhere. Still, it was peaceful enough for me to think.
I sat down above a ladder, and I just thought about those words that the letter said:
“My dearest shy pony,
Whenever I see you, my heart goes on racing
You are a very lovely and generous pony
Caring for the sick and injured animals and mercenaries
And I would be the same towards you
If you care for me too.”

I was wondering who wrote that to me. Whoever must have written that must have great feelings for me. I was quite flattered when it called me a very lovely and generous pony, caring for the sick and injured animals and mercenaries. It was very truthful, since I have cared for many sick and injured animals and mercenaries. For example: a month ago, I found a sick bird and nursed him back to health. I would’ve really liked to keep that bird, but Dr. Kritz said that the bird and Archimedes would cause trouble.
Then suddenly, I felt a hoof touching me. I turned around to see Pinkie Pie. Like all the time, she was smiling, and was happy to see me. She still acted strangely like she has been for the past week.
“Hey, Fluttershy! What are you up to?”, said Pinkie, as she sat in front of me.
“Nothing. I just came here to think about something.”, I said as I put the letter in a place where Pinkie couldn’t see it.
“What is it?”, asked Pinkie, with her usual hyperactive personality. “It’s nothing.”, I said.
Pinkie kept begging to know what was this ‘something’. I finally cracked and pulled out the letter.
“It’s this letter. This morning, I received a love letter from an anonymous pony. This has been a strange thought, as I don’t know anypony who wou–”, I said, before I was interrupted by a kiss from Pinkie. The kiss lasted for a few seconds, but to me, it felt like 1000 years, exactly the number of years Princess Luna was banished to the moon.
Pinkie seperated her lips from mine. I knew I was blushing noticeably. I then realized that Pinkie was the one who wrote the letter.
Before we headed off to our homes, I said to Pinkie “Thank you for the letter. It was beautiful.”
A few days later, I went up to Dr. Kritz and told him that I am in a relationship with Pinkie.
Dr. Kritz grinned. That grin did mean one thing: Kritz knew about this.
“How did you know?”, I asked him.
“Well, in our first psychology meeting, she just immediately told me zat she had feelings towards you. I canceled the rest of our psychology meeting to go and talk to Brigade Flame. Pinkie told him a couple days earlier before zat day, so he told me he knew about Pinkie’s love. This really explains her strange behavior. She just wanted to do this until you had feelings towards her.”, Dr. Kritz told me.
Everything was explained. It was time to go to work then.
We arrived at 2Fort, and I went and gave Pinkie an affectionate hug. It felt good that Pinkie wasn’t acting strange anymore. We now can share our love, with both of us knowing.
