Dragons intended to be visually relatable to a human audience can’t be the spiky, expressionless lizards you see in Skyrim. Expressive eyes, eyebrows, smooth features, a generally approachable appearance, and a full range of human facial expressions are non-negotiable. So Game of Thrones’ dragons are not a good example of how dragons “should” look in the context of the dragons being “just people.” A better example of that would be the Wings of Fire graphic novels:

And if these renders are too messy for you, you can always look online. Passion artists are superb at nonhuman cartoon character design.

That being said, there are a few issues with G5’s dragons, related to color theory and the Elsa-face thing that G5 is doing with all of the characters.
