Many ponies had been direct eyewitnesses to Applebloom and Stone Mane’s demonstration and affection in Sugar Cube Corner

in my Equestria dreamscapes.
Others had the event conveyed to them by those who had been there.
Still others learned about it through the grapevine. So it was as Applejack was working the family’s booth in town when suddenly she found herself confronted a herd of ponies made up of AJ’s friends and neighbors. For several seconds the Element of Honesty just stared at the silent crowd before addressing them.
“What?”

Baron’s answer to the same question at the source:
“Oh AJ is aware of just how devoted both AB and SM are to each other at the moment, and she’s very supportive of it. However there are aspects of it that are evolving faster than she expected.”
So, no shotguns (Baron’s ponies do have them - the tech level is 1890ish), but maybe some talking-to.
