I liked “Robin Hood,” but reusing animation from previous Disney films is actually not uncommon in older Disney movies. (There are even some not shown in this video.) So actually several Disney movies besides “Robin Hood” have done it. As a kid I had fun trying to spot those similar scenes. (Like compare the part where the bear smacks Todd, nocking him against a log bridge in “Fox & the Hound,” to a similar moment in “The Great Mouse Detective” where Rattigan attacks Basil on the Big Ben clock tower.)
I must add I like Rareware games, Rarewarefan. :)
Well I’m sorry.
Why did you even say that to me, I way saying stuff about Lauren hating Quest for Camelot, you don’t gave to tell me that as I know, that’s like telling someone that plays alot of Tetris “you have to makes lines with the block”.
I also remember that Lauren hated one PPG episode entitled ‘Feminine Fatal’, for having anti-men themes in a kids cartoon. Lauren dislikes the episode with Bendy because there was some backlash on the episode. If my memory serves, there were actually people who defended Bloo agaisnt Bendy when in reality it should have been Bendy the one that should have gotten into trouble.
@Beau Skunky
There are more artists in the field who feel ashamed on working on certain projects. A bunch of the guys(like the nine old men from Disney, except for Frank and Ollie) hated Robin Hood for it just reusing old animation from previous projects. Don Bluth(director of An American Tale) hated working on Xanadu(which he directed an animated sequence for). John K hates The ripping friends because it was butchered to death by Fox. Since Fox screwed with him when developing the show for them.
@Prof.NightJack
I think Lauren really dislikes Quest for camelot a lot. Aside from the main character being a lookalike of Belle from Beauty and the Beast, the character just falls into the territory of stereotypes that Lauren is always avoiding when developing female characters. I’ve even heard most of the people who worked on QOC hated working on it to this very day. To the point of it not being mentioned in their resumes.
Ya, but it seems most of here hate for it was from behind the scenes stuff, the stuff of the movie itself was more of things that just bug her the most(like what VoltraTheLively said).
As for Chuck Lorre, for somethings I have seen he doesn’t really hate what he did on TMNT but that may be for that he JUST did music and nothing more.
After seeing the movie, I can kinda see why she didn’t like it. It was kinda oddly-paced, badly-written at times, the songs were a tad annoying and mediocre.
It wasn’t a “horrible” movie, and it’s worth a watch, but it just wasn’t “great” either.
Ya, but with Lauren it’s kind of odd, she’s very open about her hate for Quest for Camelot and if she hates any other things she worked on she rarely says anything about them, even makes it seem like this is the only one she hates.
Y’know, surprisingly alot of cartoonists/animators/ect. hate the shows/movies they worked on. John Kricfalusi hated pretty much every cartoon he worked on that he didn’t personally create. I also heard Chuck Lorre (whom BTW composed the original TMNT themesong) isn’t very proud of working for cartoons in his earlier career. (Apparently, he prefers making mediocre sitcoms with constant sex-jokes like “Two & a Half Men”)
It seems to be kinda an inversion with MLP:FiM though, alot of the animators, producers, and such love working on it, and some love the show as much as the fans do. (Some female animators even cosplayed as the characters awhile back.) I even saw a few animators on DeviantArt who drew alot of fanart for the show.
Not even a model, it’s a cardboard backdrop.
shh
Well she hated the film and the experience when she worked on it…
I guess I’m no expert on story, in that case.
The animation, which is what she worked on, was simply terrific.
The story was shit, but she didn’t work on that.
