This comic has been going on for six years by now. It’d be inconsistent if the ponies suddenly stopped being racist against their striped friends.
I mean yes but like most over used tropes it doesn’t mean people are going to stop using it I myself am tired of seeing it but people still do it.

I’m guessing its based on the fact most people portray Male zebras like African American men are portrayed in porn. Also I like the difference between the ponies of ponyville vs the ones in canterlot and why pinkie killing them would be normal.
