Not in Equestria anyway.
I mean, if they were born as Alicorns they certainly wouldn’t say that Alicorn births were never seen before.
Nothing is disproving or proving that. They could’ve reacted that way because they didn’t think Shining could procreate one.
Tbf C&L were pretty much obviously born unicorns. It’s pretty obvious when they said an Alicorn at birth was unheard of in S6E1.
If Skyros is ever indeed real then the entire argument you came up with is wrong.
As she has throughout the show, Opaline could also be lying (or gone the Gollum route and invented memories).
If they weren’t born alicorns then there’s no reason for Opaline to want to being with them.
Yes, it should be taken word for word because Celestia participated in the play; if anything were wrong, she’d say so.
There was a time when Celestia and Luna didn’t exist, their special talents happened to be raising the sun (Celestia) and moon (Luna), but they couldn’t lower or raise the other (which is made clear when Celestia’s and Luna’s cutie marks switched).
Also, Celestia and Luna weren’t born Alicorns; they saw so when they saw Flurry Heart.
Sorry, but them being gods is pure boomer brony fanon.

You sure that should be taken for word and not simply part of operating the play? Because that would explain things in g5, in that some unknown group of unicorns was raising the sun and moon except they don’t have magic.
Thank you for covering me there. I just know a lot of the lore, I haven’t actually watched the vast majority of the show. Wouldn’t be surprised if this topic was also covered in the comics, honestly.
Did what? Move the sun and moon? It was the play about Celestia’s life Twilight held. You know, the one where it turns out Celestia can’t act or sing. A group of Unicorns did that before Luna and Celestia were born, but they got really tired and felt drained, but since Celestia’s and Luna’s special talent is those specific spells, they get rejuvenated instead.
If you’re referring to the age magic, Twilight even mentions that it’s a high-level spell that only the most powerful Unicorns can do.
Which episode?
I don’t think they’re named, but I think it’s been explicitly stated somewhere in the show, so he’s not wrong. Unicorns can indeed move the sun and moon, just not on their own. As someone said earlier, it takes a team of them, and a fairly large one at that. I think it was 11?
Name me one unicorn that did that besides Twilight and without that amulet.
Age magic is a thing, and them being gods is a fanon. Moving the sun and moon is a spell that Unicorns can do.
Alicorns don’t have eternal life; if they did, they would’ve mentioned it since they mentioned in the show that Discord is immortal.
And the fact that Celestia and Luna can be hurt at all means they’re not gods.
Them being gods is just a fanon thing from brony boomers, much like how Chrysalis was jUsT lOoKiNg AfTeR hEr CoLoNy.
Sure, but consider that it took a whole team of them to do it with their combined strength.
The unicorns could already do that without her.
You telling me that a being that controls the sun and the moon isn’t god-like? Even in a world where magic is commonplace, the ability to move literal celestial bodies is on a whole different level. Not to mention that they were born for that exact, specific purpose, AND that they’re thousands of years old. That’s far more than just having a magical horn.
I know, right? It’s so frustrating.
@Soctavia
That’s entirely fanon, though. The fandom decided that they were gods, not the show.
