Extreme gamer by day, Shadowbolt by night. Due to being a terrible flyer as a result of an injury inflicted during his days in Cloudsdale Academy after a race with Soarin,’ Power-Up spent his educational life and free time developing game artwork and playing on old game consoles of the Neighties. After a flying incident in the Everfree Forest, a crash left Power-Up unconscious for several hours in dangerous territory, though awoke with no apparent life-endangiring injuries, just with a newly acquired set of purple goggles hanging around his neck. Try as he might the goggles are permanently trapped on Power-Up’s collar, never to release. Come nightfall of each day, Power-Up falls unconscious and undergoes a transformation, as a result of the enchanted goggles, into an elite flyer of the Everfree; a Shadowbolt. Now, with flawless flight skills, this alter ego opposes any crime in Equestria with breakneck speed and efficiency. Come dawn, however, the persona fades away and Power-Up returns, having no recollection of the events.
