The only real difference that I can tell is that he learned some fucking restraint.
I actually liked how Discord was “reformed” without being defanged. He just learned a little lesson about empathy, that’s all. He’s still a reality-bending, unpredictable psychopathic man-child - the way we like him.

It was a good episode, if a bit rushed. I found it to be quite enjoyable.
I agree, though. It would be a poor introduction to the show. It would be confusing to really new viewers. It would be the last episode I’d show anyone prior to S4. Viewers who had watched all of S1 through S3 would get more out of Twilight’s transformation scene.
