Ghosts exist. We know that after seeing Fluttershy in #10, when she returns as a spirit in the form of a glowing butterfly.
There was also the lighthouse keeper who suddenly vanished together with his lighthouse when the Mane Five left and was implied to be around since the G4 area.

I love them, they’re so bad - MLP’s puns and Zootopia’s puns could sustain me for months
Interesting how they came up with “TikTrot” when there’s already Clip Trot, but considering that this pages uses both “Ponygram” and “Instagroom” it’s clearly more for the purposes of joking, which I’m fine with.

Ghosts exist. We know that after seeing Fluttershy in #10, when she returns as a spirit in the form of a glowing butterfly. So I think Pipp is taking a very big chance with this, and Izzy as Sunny thinks it’s not a good idea. They were a little too quick to help her out.
This “Old Nag”, Nagathine Irons, was likely a dark mage - these existed in the G4 - and was so notorious that her memory lived on despite Equestria’s collapse and collective amnesia, although this may have been distorted as a result. Possibly she had learned how to possess other ponies and manipulate them and this may have survived her death. We don’t know how the ponies treat their dead, but it is possible that they had switched to cremation - the graveyard where the changelings originated was quite old.
It is certain that Pipp will free her friends from the Old Nag and possibly help give the dead pony, who may have become a restless ghost doomed by her dark magic, the opportunity to find peace in her rest. This is possible because Pipp is an element bearer and the Mane 6 (with the possible exception of Twilight) may follow what happens in the mortal world.
