Not saying that, in the absence of.other evidence it would HAVE to be, just sayig that the established narratives of G4 already deal with long time-spans, so I don’t see how positing a long time frame between G1 (G3? Why even mention that? Were there Flutterponies in G3?) and G4 would be terribly jarring?

We don’t have a specific time line for when g3 happened you can’t just randomly say ‘oh it’s a millienum ago’. There is no canon for that. The G3 ponies may have even been grandparents or great grandparents of the g4 characters since many of them share names.
Proposed addendum:
The Breezies who were against intermarriage, but also didn’t end up QUITE so inbred (and or refused to marry evil people??) became the Breezies.

Meanwhile, the Changelings were a separate offshoot of the Flutter Ponies, who became too insular and inbred…thus resulting in their physical deformities and biological need to feed on love by the time of G4.

This song makes them out to be pretty heroic. That’s also like Rainbow Dash. She’ll help when she needs to help, but she’s really great when she does and looks heroic and cool doing so.
They’re the other flutter pony half. They can be both based on them.
