I’m almost sure, if Alphabittle’d see this, the realization would hit him harder than a train. It would break his competitive and proudful soul into smithereens.
Ngl, I might be the only one with this opinion, but it really sucks to be an Alphabittle-fan these days.
He’s easily the least popular, living (supporting) character of G5, period. And I didn’t even listed the mares here, because I’m aware of them being usually much more popular in the fandom. But even when it comes to stallion-lovers he gets almost zero love from them either. He’s apparently nobody’s cup of tea.

Fans never ever call Alphabittle cute, attractive, cool, likeable or interesting. He usually never gets talked about at all, despite the great potential his character has. I mean, we still have no idea why he was so different from other unicorns, right? We know nothing about his past. It’s like, does even anybody care about him?
They keep saying Hitch is underrated, or Sprout needs more love, etc.
But they never say such things about Alphabittle, even though those numbers speak for themselves. It’s quite obvious how while Hitch and Sprout are getting lots of attention with all those fan fictions, fan art, 3D stuff, animations, PMVs, (fan) merch, etc, Alphabittle has little to none of those. And as time passes, it’s only getting worse. Doesn’t he inspire any creative people around here in the slightest? :(

Heck, at the moment he has only 22 fics on Fimfiction, and out of all those there’s only like five or something where he appears as a main character. Oh, and the best rated fic of him is by far the one where he transforms into a mare. A small, delicate mare. Apparently the fans only appreciate Alphabittle, when he looks and acts nothing like his original self.
And I don’t see this will change in a positive direction in the future, even if he’ll get some screentime in Tell Your Tale or in Make Your Mark. He doesn’t even have his own emotes on mlp Discord servers, so what should I even expect? Well, okay, he has one, and they uploaded it only when they’ve realized he didn’t have any. But, hey, at least Cloudpuff, and every single background pony has at least five of those. Anyway, all those things point towards the fact that there’s no actual demand for Alphabittle art ‘n stuff.
I often feel like I’m literally the only unfortunate one who has Alphabittle as its favorite G5 character. I feel so lonely in such a big community. Like an outcast. When I first joined, I’ve never thought that could happen in a fandom, where usually even the background characters get lots of love and attention. Where everypony has its dedicated fanbase. Everypony except him.
It just saddens me deeply: there’s this huge community with full of creative, talented people. Seeing all this amazing stuff that’s getting uploaded on a regular base dedicated for every single character of this generation, except for him. Almost nobody is willing to contribute anything for him. He barely gets anything, but neglection. I think we can all agree that there’s no worse feeling for a fan than to witness its favorite character’s getting neglected by the fandom this badly. And honestly, I have zero idea why it’s happening… :(

Believe me, I’ve already tried many of those listed suggestions and left basically zero impact on the fandom.😞 That’s why I feel so helpless and frustrated among others. I even have plans for going to an art school. But I can’t make a difference if most of the fandom still keeps sleeping on him, things just doesn’t work like that. No matter how hard I try, I can’t reach fans if they’re not interested. And apparently I can’t make them interested either. Bam, it’s already catch-22.
Thank you for the advice and for the understanding. Even though I’ve watched G4, I wasn’t involved in the fandom this much back then, so I don’t really know about their reaction. But that’s a whole different situation, I believe, considering, Discord is/must have been a relatively popular character to begin with, much popular than Alphabittle is or ever will be. I still would rather deal with upset fans and even haters over almost non-existent ones. Nothing is worse when a fandom is being neutral towards a character. In my opinion a character should evoke feelings, emotions from the audience, any kind of emotions, really to leave an actual impact.

Let’s hope so, but for lasting appreciation he needs to be relevant in some way or form. He have to interact with other characters. If the best he’ll get is a cameo appearance, then there’s no hope for him.
