I think they will continue doing it this way. Chances are there will be elements of the upcoming holiday special in November that will tie in with Tell your Tale as well.
Honestly, I do like the idea of Tell your Tale, because it is free to watch and gives us pony fans something to enjoy while we wait for the next big pony release (and it also reduces the amount of ‘filler’ content in the main Make your Mark series as well).

The synergy between the two is interesting since the Make Your Mark episodes were perfectly timed so the next Tell Your Tale had the new characters in them. Makes me wonder if they will do this again in the future (or if we even have to wait until all the Tell Your Tale episodes are out before the next batch of Make Your Mark episodes).

Because the series is on Netflix, it’s most likely we’re going to get all the episodes all at once. Not only that but the series will be split into parts, 8 episodes per part I think. So there isn’t a true “season 1”.
Also, 8 episodes is not enough for real word building.
Because they’re probably going to be released all at once, it would ruin the watch experience we had with G4. We would have to go through mini hiatuses after the first batch of episodes.
This ended up being very much correct. Though one thing should be added: right now no further ‘parts’ to G5 have been confirmed, outside of the holiday special. So…technically you have the issue of all the episodes being released at one alongside unknown release dates for future episodes.
Ironically, the only MLP related series that is actually being uploaded at a consistent basis (and as such is being the source material for most G5 fan art) is Tell your Tale.
