A I won’t spoil anything, you would have to read the fic. I STRONGLY recomend it.
This is all canon to the story? I feel like you could make a full family tree with that in mind. (With the names of the others being made up of course.)
Nope, Night’s & Velvet’s Great Grandparents wern’t the begining of this Cat’s Cradle Family Tree of Incest. They were infact cloes to the end of it. The first siblings who mated with eachother were Starswirl The Bearded & his sister Star Wind the Fastest. So Cady, Shiny & Twily is in this family tree 47th Generation Inbreeds. Do not worry about negative effects of this inbreeding stuff, they were immune by the time the 5th Gen inbreeds was born.
If Night and Velvet’s great grand parents were the start of the recursive inbreeding, then Cadance, Shining and Twilight would be the fifth generation, so Flurry and Nova would start to be a little fucked up, and Aster would be even moreso. It just gets worse if you go further back.

Not only that, but Cady, Shiny & Twily was also inbreed, so was Night Light & Twilight Velvet. So was their Parents, Grandparents & Great Grandparents before them, all the way back to Starswirl The Bearded & his Pegasus Sister Star Wind The Fastest. & No need to be worreid about negative side effects, they are immune from about 4-5 gens down from the start.
